Critical Analysis of the Portrayal of Environmental Issues in Chinese Language Textbooks for Ethnic Koreans

چکیده
This article examines how Chinese language textbooks, produced for ethnic Koreans by in China, portray environmental issues China. Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA) and Visual Image (VIA) are used to investigate what content is integrated ideologies these textbooks construct. published 2012 2022 were chosen as they the most recently versions primary school students of Korean background. The analytical findings show that defer responsibility problems global community rather than portraying them China’s problem solve. causes nature simplified—only dumping deforestation addressed. It found analyzed this paper serve interests owners domestic multinational companies government officials agents who collaborate with them, while ignoring needs citizens suffering effects serious pollution. Thus, educators using should strongly consider introducing more real specific pollution data raise awareness reality problems, introduce critical perspectives, order develop environmentally-aware students.
